We just stayed at the hotel and look, the entrance into the hotel is gorgeous, open court yard, loads of big plants and the staff were ok. The rooms are big but basic. I stayed at this hostel when I arrived as exchange student in Guadalajara. People were all very nice and helpful. The Casa Libertad is beautiful (an old house/museum), and very conveniently located in a safe area (near the animated avenida Chapultepec and at walking distance from the center).
