In many ways the legacy of WWII in Berlin is better measured by the absence of things than by what is left. This church is a stark reminder of what the entire city was probably like in 1945. This "broken" church looks beautiful at night. The church is transfomed into a moving reborn work of hope. more

The bombed towers are as realistic as a WWII memorial can get. I didn’t get the chance to go inside the new bits but the mid-night blue windows must be quite a treat. I saw something similar in Brazil. It looks very odd from the outside and almost ugly but stepping inside reveals and whole different view! more
