I can't imagine how anyone could enjoy this area. There were drunken bums laying all about the streets, menacing looking homeless people, a bunch of low-rent sex shops you could find in any run-down area of any big city and trash all over the streets. I stayed at the East hotel, a fantastic place just one street over and why... more

Just come back from a weekend in Hamburg, which would have been a lot more enjoyable if the weather had been better. But, nevermind. After visiting Amsterdams redlight area several times, I found the Reeperbahn rather seedy and nowhere near as female friendly in comparason. I know I shouldnt have, but curiosity got the better of me, and I walked... more

Not the most chic area of Hamburg, but you can't beat it for its lively atmosphere good bars and restaurants - ignore the unavoidable grim drunks and perservere you will enjoy it! more

Spent the weekend in hamburg,very cold as you would expect at end of january, stayed in a place called hotel mercedes thought it would be cheap, it was not and a very poor hotel avoid it at all costs, took tour around city, beautiful city and the bus tours show you every inch of it, 10 euros for two hours... more
