The Dom is a place you must see if you are in Cologne. The architecture is beautiful. Everywhere you look is something to appreciate, enjoy, and absorb. The stained glass windows were my favorite. There are guide books throughout the cathedral. It is well worth the 2 Euros to pick one up. Even the floor is worth looking at. Mosaics... more

The cathedrale is literally right outside the train station. If you will be passing by Cologne, I would strongly suggest getting off the train and taking an hour or two in the cathedrale. It is stunning and imposing and breathtaking, inside and out. It is one of the most beautiful churches I'v ever seen, and I would rate it higher... more

if you want to go to the top, then make a point of going up early!! it gets quite busy and the stairs are quite narrow, its a long trek and your legs will burn, but its well worth the climb. take a drink of water with you!!! more

This wonderful gothic architectonical religious bulding is really wonderful. It takes like 30 minutes to go up to the tower above, but the view is really amazing more

We stopped in Koln to visit the Cathedral (Kolner Dom its German name) on a tour of Western Europe in early May 2008. I must say that out of all the incredible cathedrals we visited, Kolner Dom is by far the most impressive and beautiful. It’s not hard to believe that it once was the tallest structure in the world.... more

The size of this church is unbelievable. If you're lucky enough to see the outside during sundown, the view is even better in my opinion. It's just a beautiful building. The stairs to the top are long, small and seem never ending but the view up there is worth it. Its right across from the train station..can't miss it! When... more

You must visit here and climb to the top of the cathedral if you're able. (It's 32 stories high and not easy!) more

The cathedral is immense and gorgeous on its own. It's amazing and looms over the square and the city - you can see it from a mile away as you approach Cologne by train. I'm glad we did a guided tour to really learn about it though. And you can only go into the choir area (the oldest area from... more

This Cathedral is incredible! I have never seen anything like this. This is a must see if in Germany. I first saw it at night. It was surreal. It looks like something out of a movie. I went back the next day and was completely floored. Try to look at the height of this while standing next to it. It... more

I stayed in Dom Hotel which is 600yrds directly opposite from the cathedral. The cathedral is enormous and there is a lot of attention to detail. The dark gothic tower is like something out of a film i simply cannot believe it started to be built in 1200's! You can see the turrets of the cathedral from across the other... more
