“a beautiful church of historic significance”

The St. Nicholas Church is not only stunningly beautiful, it was the center of the peace movement in Leipzig from May 1989 to bring down the DDR. The Stasi had said they were prepared for many things, but not prayer and candles. This site is a moving piece of recent history. Don't miss it. more

We shared just a few minutes within Nikolaikirche but we were stunned by the beauty of the church. As put to me the palm branches at the tops of the columns are unique in the world.
