The Boardwalk is a great place for people watching, or a quick ride on a great roller coaster. If you like amusement park rides, you could easily spend all day. We visited this place last Saturday. We were hoping for a wonderful, restful escape from city life and were so disappointed. We may be in the minority but we found this place to be overpriced, overcrowded and dirty. The rides, boardwalk and streets surrounding it were packed with people. The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is an awesome place for kids as well as adults. They have cute little toddler rides (like the Bumper Boats, Sea Serpent, ect.) that are just as fun as the thrilling adventures of the more mature rides, such as the Typhoon, Hurricane, the Giant Dipper of course, etc. So you see, there's something for everyone... more

Having seen it in the movies, we decided to pay a visit while on vacation. We were not disappointed. Entrance to the boardwalk is free. Santa Cruz Boardwalk is fun for everyone. It has several rides for toddlers, arcades and a nice mix of old-fashioned rides, a beautiful carrousel, and several new rides. I spent last summer in Santa Cruz working at a camp, and one of my favorite things to do was go to the boardwalk on monday nights. After 9:00pm, you can go on any ride for just one 60-cent ticket.
