We just got back from staying 4 days at the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort in Rio Grande, PR. We had a great time! It was beautiful and very classy. The food is very expensive though. We went out to eat every day and we had to rent a car to get where we wanted to go. The resort is... more

We stayed in the villas at the Rio Mar and loved it. We had a couple of problems with the AC and the water heater but they did fix them immediately. The hotel is well kept and has beautiful pools and landscaping. The food is overpriced- 25.00 pp for the breakfast buffet but we found that most Puerto Rico restaurants... more

This hotel had a very nice pool area and the beach was a few yards away-NO LIFEGUARDS on the beach so be prepared. The hotel did not offer all-inclusive and it showed. Breakfast for two adults and two children would run at least $90.00. The kids programs are not free they cost about $65.00 per day and to say the... more

We vacationed here from July 3 - 8, 2008, from California. The resort is beautiful - well manicured landscape, gorgeous sunsets (see photos), and singing coqui's (PR's national frog) which add to the tropical ambiance. First, as you have read before, the food and drinks are shockingly expensive. For example, my girlfriend ordered 3 pina coladas at the poolside Tiki... more

We just left the resort and we have had the most wonderful time. The resort has its issues, but there are a few things you can do which, I believe, may make the difference between and great stay and a so-so one – 1 – you MUST rent a car at the airport!!! The only disgruntled guests we met were... more

We picked this property because it was a Wyndham Grand, the top of the line for Wyndham. The staff was fantastic, especially Angelica Marques at the front desk. She went out of her way to provide us with connecting rooms, and an amazing view off our balcony of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. She excelled with exceptional service. Our room was... more

To start things off, we got an incredible deal to stay here. It was EXTREMELY affordable. I would not pay $250+ per night but I really wouldn't pay that to stay anywhere. This resort is fabulous - it's great for families and couples. The beach and pools are phenomenal and yes, the food is outrageously expensive so we ate outside... more

The best part about the Rio Mar was the staff. They were very accomodating when we asked to switch rooms, and they helped us promptly with a smile. All of the restarant staff were likewise very polite and were happy to make suggestions and engage in conversation. The rooms are very adequate, although a bit on the small side. At... more

My Fiance and I simply loved the resort. We had a great view on floor 5. The Spa package was great, the best massage i ever had. The food was costly but great taste, Our favorite was Shimas and the pastries at ERL cafe, although the cafe servers were a bit slow at service. Make sure you take a tript... more

The main problem is that the hotel is trying to be all things to all types of people; couples and families and the dining experiences are not good. Admittedly we came during the school vacation time but the hotel should still be meeting the needs of its other guests too. My husband wanted to play some golf and we both... more
