We just returned from a June 20-27, 2008 RCI vacation at the Grand Mayan Acapulco. The resort was excellent and Roberto Alacron (email: robertoalrey@yahoo.com.mx) was even better. As promised, Roberto was waiting at the airport with a big Mexican smile. He provided all of our concierge services, which, in addition to airport transportation, included an excellent city tour highlighted by... more

The Royal Mayan Acapulco is a beautiful resort but needs updating in a few areas. The grounds are simply magnificent. My friends and I stayed in an ocean view (though the first floor - more palm tree view) 1 bedroom suite in the main hotel. The rooms are decorated beautifully however, the beds and pillows are very, very hard (no... more

As is evident from the reviews of many others, no trip to Acapulco is complete without the expert guidance of Roberto Alarcon (robertoalrey@yahoo.com.mx). He was always prompt to take us where we wanted to go. His tours are interesting, informative and entertaining. His restaurant recommendations were perfect. He lent us a mobile phone (for which we purchased prepaid minutes) so... more

FACILITY Just returned on 6/27/08 from the Grand Mayan in Acapulco. Truly a 5-star facility. My wife and I had exchanged through RCI and was originally booked to stay in the Mayan Palace. Upon check-in, which was a breeze, we were asked the standard - we will upgrade you to the Grand Mayan if you will do the 90 minute... more

My wife and I, along with another couple, just returned from a FABULOUS vacation in Acapulco. The Grand Mayan is beautiful and amazing, but what really made our trip was Roberto Alarcon, the driver we hired for the week. Roberto was friendly, knowledgeable and spoke great English. He was waiting for us at the airport when we arrived and took... more

Prior to this trip, Acapulco was among the last Mexican cities on my list to visit. I had heard the stories but I'm here to say that it's a wonderful place to visit. Much of that is due to our stay at the Grand Mayan Acapulco. I would never recommend someone to stay in the busy downtown area of Acapulco... more

My husband & I stayed at Grand Mayan May 25th- June 1st. It was our first time to Acapulco and we will be going back! We hired Sebastian Hernandez as our driver. We told him we liked more of the "local" scenes than "touristy" and he definitely set us up. He took us to a restaurant called Restaurant Esmirna Del... more

Just got back from a week at the Grand Mayan. June is the rainy season but we lucked out and had no rain at all. We arrived on June 13 and departed on the 20th. We had our original reservation at the Mayan Palace but after reading TA we decided to listen in on the time share presentation and get... more

The ambiance was fantasic with water falls and ocean views everywhere. Of course is is in the center of mountains so the veiws were fantastic. our teen age granddaughters had an unblievable... more

My wife, grad school daughter, seven year old granddaughter, and I stayed at the Grand Mayan June 7-14, 2008 on an RCI exchange in a 1 BR. What a memorable time we had. I will mention only a few things that others have not discussed much. The weather was sunny except for June 9 when it rained all day. Sebastian... more
