I stayed at the Hotel Encino the week of June 2, 2008. The room appeared clean enough but when I laid down on the bed I felt a biting sensation on my back. It was hot and humid and I thought I was just imagining it. The sheets were very old and thin. The bed was hard. The pillows very... more

I stayed in the suites connected to Hotel Encino Dec 11-16th. Location is perfect, you can walk to the beach or downtown area. Right on the border between South Side and Downtown/Northern Hotel Areas. The Staff were extremely friendly and let me use their phone to make local calls. We even chatted and joked around, the front desk guys were... more

After staying at a 5 star in Nuevo Vallarta in 2007 (Vallarta Palace) we really wanted to experience something that was more authentic. The Hotel Encino fit the bill. Although it is obviously an older hotel and lacks the shine of others it's definitely worth the 42 bucks a night we paid in March 2008 for 10 days. We booked... more

I stayed for 3 nights at the Encino a few years ago, great location, cute rooms, beautiful courtyard and amazing views from the rooftop pool. Only negative is it's a little noisy. more

I'll start with the good... Location is good. Close to the Malecon - 2 blocks.. and price was reasonable at about $50US per night. The pictures make this hotel look a lot nicer than it is. It is adequate but not very clean... older - needs a remodel... small concrete cell like rooms.. loud grungy AC units.. Had to look... more

If you are looking for a modern, pristine, American-style hotel, look elsewhere. This is a good, clean, no-frills hotel that seems to cater to majority of Mexican clientelle. We stayed there twice, once in the hotel and once in the Suites and LOVED it. The rooms in the hotel are small with only the necessary furniture - AC, cable TV... more

Encino Guest from Chicago, IL Well, I've been a guest 3 times and just love it! The budget is great and evertyhing is so close. The staff was wonderful. The a/c was noisy but other than that I have no complaints. I love the pool area. It's different but that's what I like about it. How I can see everything... more

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Encino for one week over the Christmas holidays. We found the hotel to be clean and safe. There were safety deposit boxes at reception. The maid did a good job and the towels were good. They have a free towel service so if you need a towel for the beach they provide a... more

This is a nice, basic, clean little hotel right in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. If you want to be easy walking distance to shopping, the beach, and great restaurants, this is perfect. It is NOT a luxury hotel--stay at one of the resorts if that's what you're looking for. But this hotel was pretty and felt safe and well... more

After reading the negative review from the other Denverite, I thought I should give my opinion. I have stayed in six hotels in PV, from quite ritzy to budget. I have also stayed in many other countries south of the border. I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Encino. It was very clean, everything worked well, and I found the staff... more
