Have stayed here a few times over the last few years and the service is consistently good. Rooms are basic, but kitchens and bathrooms are cleaned regularly. Great location with a local shop just below, and only a 5 min walk from Yonge Street. Safe location, felt very comfortable coming back late at night alone. Lockers available in the basement... more

I stayed at the Neill-Wycik College Hotel with a 2 year old! We had a blast. There was no charge for him and I felt that this was way safer than a youth hostel dorm situation for the same price. I paid for 5 nights what easilly would have paid for 1 night at any place within the area. The... more

Great value for a single room in downtown TO, even if you do have to share a bathroom. Not the most comfortable room or bed, but better than most hostel dorm rooms. Very convenient location and lots of grocery stores nearby if you are stocking up. It seemed like there were people of all ages staying there so if you... more

I liked my stay here. Staff was friendly and helpful. I've actually made a little overview video of the hotel, see the video here: http://www.bravotoday.com/?p=10 I can recommend the place to budget travellers, tired of sleeping in a shared dorm room more

Had a nice stay at Neill Wycik - location was great for me, right by Yonge Street and all the shops. The room was fine, and had a great view of the city - I stayed up late looking at all the lights on the horizon! I was clean, and the private room was a bonus, the shared bathrooms were... more

The prices online are not the set prices of this hotel, they are student rates and unless you mention this fact and show ID the staff will not tell you the actual price until you see your bill. I feel we payed way too much money for the quality of rooms and service. I didn't feel secure in the rooms,... more

Prices vary here, like at any hotel or hostel, depending on where you book, and how you book. We give large discounts to online/hostel reservation website bookings, and you have to book via those booking engines to get those prices. Yes, we also give student discounts as we are primarily a student residence, but you obviously have to prove you...

I have stayed at Neill Wycik for one week in May for the past three years. I learned about the "backpack hotel" from a well known travel guide, and they were right on the money. Neill Wycik is great value. The dorm like rooms are suficiently large, and I appreciate the firm beds. Each floor has a couple of suites,... more

Stayed a couple of weekends ago, it just opened for the summer. It was nice, the room was clean, and the shared washrooms were fine. The location really is central....5 minutes from the Eaton Centre! Staff were all young (students?) but they were pleasant and made my stay pleasant. I will definitely be staying again later in the summer when... more

Enumerating all of the horrible aspects of Neill Wycik will take all day, but I will try to be succinct: 1) Disgusting rooms - this hotel is infested by bed bugs and mice. Some rooms, particularly the ones that have not been renovated, have also not been fumigated. Thus, it is common to see the random mouse running around the... more

Management response from
Wycikmanager, Accommodation Manager

1. Neill-Wycik is definitely not infested by either mice or Bed Bugs. The management fully admit that we have occasional occurrences of both bed bugs and mice. These issues are not specific to our building, and nearly all hostels and hotels have to deal with these problems from time to time. Each time we have a report of either bed...
