Get ready for the “concierge” to put the hard sell on you to go to a time share “presentation”. That’s the first thing that happened to us. The front desk tells you that the concierge has something for you and you find out it’s a sales pitch. We couldn’t get away from the eager little sales boy. Make sure when... more

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at this property and both times I have had mixed feelings. We are owners at two other vacation clubs, so I know this is a timeshare as opposed to a hotel. First the "pros" of this property. It is on Highway 50 and you can walk to the casinos.... more

Marriott Timber Lodge is a great place to stay. It is centrally located and has very nice accommodations. The swimming pool is heated which makes it very nice since the temperatures, even in summer do not get much above 80 degrees. The staff was very accommodating. Our requests were handled quickly and efficiently. Our room was light and airy and... more

I booked this hotel over the Embassy Suites next door - thinking it would be a treat. Unfortunately, the property is more set up as a time share then a hotel. The ammenities are limited. There is no room service - and they do not provide "daily cleaning" unless you want to pay extra for it. They will come in... more

We used some of our platinum Marriott points to stay here during Thanksgiving last year while we were in town visiting family in Reno. We had a very nice room, king bed w/ pull-out couch. We didn't get to try out any of the on-site restuarants which was a shame since it did look nice. We did spend most of... more

My husband, six year old son and I stayed for three nights over the fourth of July holiday. We rented a room and are not owners at the resort. Our room was a nice size with a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, small refrigerator and plates, glasses, cutlery etc. There are laundry facilities (free) in the building. There is also complimentary... more

We stayed for 4 nights on a timeshare preview offer. It was a really nice place. The room was great, just a little baffled by the fact the tub was in the master bedroom instead of the bathroom. The shower had a soap dish but no place to put your shampoo, razor, etc. Just a little weird. It was wll... more

Overall a pleasant place to stay, but the staff services are s l o w and inconsistent. It’s a delight to see South Tahoe finally putting in some quality, family-friendly, non-casino hotels. Both the king bed in the bedroom and pull-out sofa bed in the living area were very comfy – not always the case with those sofa beds. Good... more

This is a hotel that is actually a time-share property. Before we left they called us about setting up the "complimentary 90-minute" tour- everyone knows how those high-pressure talks go, so be prepared for solicitation. When you arrive, there is no choice other than valet parking at $19/day. Our room was a "studio" and very small. After the first day,... more

We are Marriott Owners at a different resort and traded our week to stay at the Timber Lodge. The hotel is located in a perfect location and very clean. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We have two boys 13 and 16 and there was plenty to keep them busy too. Lake Tahoe has something for everyone and its... more
