Striking from the outside and certainly impressive when you enter the lobby, it's difficult for me to fault this hotel. I stayed for one night in a junior suite facing into the courtyard (as opposed to looking over the lake) and I was delighted. The room was great, with everything from the bathroom (clean, modern and bright with a good... more

I was so excited about staying in hotel. James Bond has been here and it has a history to make other hotels envy. However my excitement abated after check in. This hotel is trading on its glorious past and is now a shadow of its famous past. Bright and sparkly from the outside, dull and poorly maintained on the inside.... more

We chose this hotel on the recommendation of a well-travelled friend and we loved it. The hotel is big and old-fashioned; the lobby is wonderful. We were there for 2 nights with our kids (24 and 22) and we had 2 very nice rooms next to each other on the 2nd floor. The bathrooms were huge! We had a winter... more

Ah, the faded glory of the Kempinski Hamburg. It is truly elegant in the lobby -- although eerily quiet. The rooms showed more of a worn look. My colleague had the door handle to the room fall off in her hand. Yet they have these elegant touches like turndown service which must just be to fool the tourists into thinking... more

Been there for a 2 nights business stay and got a std room for less than 200 EUR incl. breakfast LIKED - fair price for a downtown 5* - nice welcoming lobby - excellent breakfast - place is full of history + has seen quite some glam DIDN'T LIKE - generally old but in a "used" way - didn't feel... more

Hotel has definitely seen better days and while it is all pomp outside, styles are changing throughout- more traditional in the lobby and restaurants except for a modern bar and pictures painted by and curtesy of the aging rock-star-resident (not all child appropriate), strong Asian (or minimalist) influence in the rooms and long, old hallways begging for a bit of... more

I stayed one night at the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski Hamburg and found it to be the perfect location for both exploring Hamburg on foot and having a great location for doing business. I asked for a room with a view of the Alster lake and was not disappointed. I kept opening the window just to prop my elbows on the... more

Checked into the hotel with my 2 yeard old son on 23 December, 2007. Took advantage of a best available rate at 147 E for an economy double room. Room was not heated upon arrival, wallpaper coming of the ceiling, no coffee/tea kettle. First problem was corrected immediately. I had the feeling I was put at the end of the... more

I stayed at this hotel from the 30th of November to the 1st of December with my mother and aunt. I booked a junior suite for 3 people through the hotel's online booking system. When we arrived at the hotel they did not have our room and claimed that we haven't booked it correctly even though we had the booking... more

review : 05/nov Having booked 2 nights in the famous Kempinski Atlantic hotel this was unfortunately not the best stay in Hamburg i've experienced. Upon entering the room i had the impression of going 30 years back in time, with unfortunately materials which have been used during that period. The wallpaper was damaged, the painted parts of doors were in... more
