Near the airport. OK if tired. No decent places to eat nearby. Hotel shuttle bus only seems to operate when nobody wants to use it. Taxis want return trip to airport paid as well and arrives at hotel with 10 Euros on the meter. more

My girlfriend stayed here one night between flights. They gave her a room that was only superficially clean - i.e, the bed was made and the toilet had a strip of paper across it that claimed it had been cleaned. But the bathroom smelled terrible, as if someone had vomited in it (the window had been left open - in... more

For an airport hotel this one is fine, rooms are average to small for European standard, clean and comfortable. For those who complained about the window coverings, perhaps you did not know that there are external blinds that you can lower and the room is dark as night even in midday. Location to the airport and nearby metro line to... more

I have to disagree with the some of the negative statements previous reviewers have made about this hotel. For an airport hotel, the Villa De Barajas is perfectly okay. We arrived at Madrid airport after an overnight flight from the US and the hotel's free shuttle bus picked us up after about a fifteen minute wait. When we checked in,... more

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Even for the price, one can do far better than the Villa De Barajas in Madrid. Of the many problems I experienced there during my 3 night stay: 1) Horrific service. I called for the "free airport shuttle" and was promised it would arrive in 10-15 minutes. *FIFTY* minutes later,... more

I had low expectations since this was an airport hotel and they were met. The room was small, cold and dark. The beds were soft. The hot water was lukewarm. The window treatments didn't keep out the light. The breakfast was a croissant and coffee. On a positive note, the shuttle was convenient. We called from the airport and the... more

This was the third time my wife and I (both seniors) have stayed at the BW Villa Barajas, mainly because it is close to the airport (we rented a car all three times before or after spending time in Madrid) and has good complimenary shuttle service to and from the Barajas airport. The earlier stays (in 2003) were better than... more

It was OK as a place to stay when flying out the next day. Tiny rooms, very noisy (it is being renovated), staff was pleasant. No place nearby for dinner. It was the poorest hotel we had in Spain. But the free shuttle did get us to the airport on time. more

I got what I was looking for - a good value clean hotel near the airport and the metro. Check in and out were efficient, the staff in the dining room were very friendly, when I faxed later from home to say I'd forgottten to register my stay for points I got an email back very quickly saying that this... more

We had decided to stay close to the airport our last night after our three week journey through Spain and Portugal. This was the most disappointing hotel. The rooms were very small although they have been updated and it was very clean and the beds comfortable. We asked the front desk to put us in a little larger room and... more
