This hotel is excellently located - very central in Madrid. It is on a busy street, but we had no problems with noise as we were facing in - yes we had a view of someone elses room, but this was not a problem as they tended to keep the curtains closed! For the price - just over 40 Euros... more

This hotel is right in the old city centre. It is a hostal, so don't expect too much. Rooms are basic and clean. Rooms are equipped with airco; you have to pay an additional sum for the use thereof. more

Central location. Service was efficient, rooms were clean and noise was minimal. Unfortunately the hotel had forgotten to reserve one of the two single rooms booked. However, they found alternative accomodation for the first night within the same block immediately - then within the hotel for the remainder of the stay. Given the budget price, I couldn't have expected more... more

This hotel is terrible. We would never reccomend it to anyone. Not only is it some of the smallest, dirty and insuffient accommodation you will find but the service is horrific. The Manager of this hotel is possibly one of the rudist people we have ever met. The rooms are so small that you would not even fit one suitcase... more

This hotel was in a great location with clean rooms - small but at this price expected. However, that is where my good comments end. This was a building site. There was half the floor dug up as soon as you set foot inside, with little or no boarding to attempt to make it safe, then rooms were still being... more

This is a prime location in Madrid- I feel lucky that we found it. Great price. The rooms are even more tiny than usual European rooms. We were not traveling to spend a lot of time in our room, we just needed a great, centrally located place to sleep, and it worked out great. It was very clean, A/C worked... more

My boyfriend and i stayed here in June 06 for 4 nights (before taking the overnight train to Barcelona). The hotel is located about 300m from Puerta Del Sol. It was clean and tidy. The room was small, as was the ensuite bathroom but perfect for you if all you want is somewhere to lay your head at night. We... more

I was at fault for booking this place without doing sufficient research. It was mentioned in a Brazilian travel magazine picked up at random. As we were at the end of a three week trip traveling with one big suitcase each plus hand luggage, it was nearly impossible for both of us to be in the room at once unless... more

We don't really want to give this hotel a bad review, because the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the location was good - but the main purpose of a hotel is to give you a good night's sleep, and the Tijcal II just didn't. The rooms (and hallways) were tiny, and we didn't sleep well any of the... more
