The problem with the Sanpi is that it’s not really a 4 star hotel --- on paper it somehow qualifies, but the bar is tiny, the concierge is the front desk clerk, the internet network barely works (and there’s no support/technical help to call), etc. Rates I think can be reasonable, but the hotel creates higher expectations and then fails... more

We stayed here at Hotel Sanpi for one night due to an overbooking at our original hotel, Sanpi's sister property, Hotel Mediolanum. The room at Sanpi was pleasant - a big entry entry vestibule with closet but small room with 2 single beds. We would have preferred a single bed but was not offered - perhaps none was available. Our double room no. 215 was pretty large & so was the bathroom, spotlessly clean , clean sheets & towels every day . A good, clean hotel with knowledgable, friendly staff. The surrounding area is . . . ok: it's not an affluent part of Milan but I certainly didn't find it threatening or unpleasant. The central station is approximately ten minutes walk away, and the Duomo about fifteen. No problems at all with the hotel, and I'd certainly stay there again. more
