On our first out of country trip I was alittle overwhelmed with the planning. After many hours reading over reviews, I chose this hotel for our 3 nights in Venice based on the great reviews. They did not lead me wrong. This hotel was very charming, and in a wonderful location. It is off a small canal in a quiet... more

This is a great place in an excellent location, certainly one of the cleanest and best run hotels I've ever stayed in, the staff is very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast is a buffet style spread with all kinds of food including fruit, yogurt, cereal and the usual meats and pastries. The waitstaff will make any kind of beverage you... more

6 of us stayed two nights at the Hotel American June 20-22. The hotel appers to have recently been renovated and we found the rooms, while small, to be quite comfortable with very nice bathrooms and most amenities we expected. Check in was painless, continential breakfast was good enough and the staff were more than willing to assist us. When... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during our Italy trip. While Venice lodgings tend to be pricy overall, the value for the money was not there with this hotel. This was by far the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our week in Italy, and the service was OK, but not what one would expect for those... more

The location of this hotel is ideal for those who want to be close to major tourist sites, but prefer a more quiet retreat after the pace of the day. It was easy to catch the vaporetto or walk across the Accademia bridge. Evenings were quiet and restful. The canal is romantic and there are numerous good restaurants and wine... more

Stayed here for 2 nights in mid-May 2008. Room was absolutely tiny. A lot of hallway and guest noise at night. Breakfast was good. Location is great. Front desk was very helpful. more

Booked through Austrian Air Lines on their City Steal Deal. This was our second visit to Venice ,the first being on a tour. The location is fantastic. Just minutes from anything you want to do. The people you come in contact with are helpful, friendly and really care about the quality of your stay. Restaurants are close by . We... more

We loved the Hotel American Denisen. We highly recommend it. We arrived by water taxi to the hotels private dock. The concierge and porter were outside waiting by the dock to give us a wonderful welcome. Our first impressions were excellent. The porter (who was wonderful through our entire stay there) was there to assist us with our luggage. He... more

We stayed at the American for our daughters 21st birthday as a suprise and what a surprise it was! It was in the perfect location for getting around everywhere and the hotel was of a very high standard - we had 3 rooms booked and every room was decorated in its own unique venetian style and why this hotel is... more
