I’m often in December in Stockholm. So it was time to visit this city in summer. The hotel is on Gamla Stan( the old town of Stockholm). So it’s perfect located for sightseeing and shopping. The ferry to Djurgården is only some minutes away. But there is also a main street in front of the hotel. My room was on... more

We booked via the website at a good summer rate, and hauled in after midnight, after a delayed train from Oslo. We found the location quite central, actally. This eastern side of Gamla Stan has fewer of the t-shirt shops, and the hotel looks out on the Af Chapman 3-masted schooner/youth hostel and the islands where the Modern Museum are... more

We arrived in Stockholm by car to stay for 3 nights without having booked any accommodation and did so via the main tourist office. We had several options and the First Hotel Reisen had the best location and we were getting a discounted price so we went for it, even though it was still a bit more than we had... more

This really is a lovely hotel. The reception staff were very professional, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast buffet is awesome!! Our rooms had sea views which were spectacular. Room toiletries were simply lovely. Biggest complaint would be the location- Gamla Stan. If you buy the Stockholm card you won't be able to take the ferry at the tip of Gamla... more

Spent one night on business. Excellent location. Modest sized bedroom and small en-suite but good view of the water (but beware road noise if you are a light sleeper); chipped furniture unrepaired. Main breakfast / dining room has fine view of the road. Good breakfast but hot food was only warm. Parts of the hotel have character but unless you... more

We had a lovely attic room with a water view for a very reasonable price . Very comfortable bed & good bathroom . Check in staff were friendly & helpfull , & the breakfast buffet was fabulous. So much nicer & with more character than the big hotels in Stockholm , such as Grand , Sheraton , Strand or Hilton... more

This hotel was booked for me by a business associate. The building overlooks the waterfront with ferries coming and going, and is adjacent to the Royal Palace. Immediately behind the hotel is the charming Old City with 17th C buildings, shops, churches on narrow cobblestone streets. Nearby is a ferry to the Vasa Museum. The room itself was comfortably furnished... more

I selected (First) Hotel Reisen because of reviews of Stockholm hotels here at Tripadvisor.com, some of which suggested it would be more interesting to stay in gamla stan (Stockholm's old town). I searched online maps for the names of hotels in gamla stan, then selected the hotel with the highest rating, in that area: First Hotel Reisen. The hotel was... more

Spent three nights at the First Reisen hotel in Stockholm on a three-for-two deal (booked direct with the hotel) A weak pound meant we ended up paying about £280 in total - but for a smart hotel, warm room, great views and a plentiful breakfast, it was money well spent. The hotel was also central enough to pop back during... more

Stayed over New Year and had a great time; booked direct with hotel website as cheapest and upgraded to de luxe room with sauna - it was well worth it as the 'lower end ' rooms looked small and with no view. Our room was good but I would recommend an Exec suite (same price) as a better bet if... more
