This is a Hotel you must stay in at least once in your life. The rooms are large and very comfortable. Double glazing keeps the noise out. The beds are so good!. The hallways are huge. Stayed for 4 nights. Didn't wont to leave. Breakfast is good. Very hard to fault our stay. Will certainly stay again more

We booked our 3 night stay in Melbourne through WOTIF.com and it included an upgrade to a one bedroom suite, which was a nice surprise all for around $200 a night including breakfast. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were treated by very friendly staff, professional and prompt services and our accommodation was outstanding, very... more

My partner and I stayed here for a valentine's weekend, taking advantage of a romance package. The customer service from the staff was fantastic-exactly as you would expect from a 5 star hotel! Could not fault them at all. The hotel itself was nice, Rab is an fantastic restaurant, we went there for dinner and breaky the next day and... more

Stayed at the Sofitel for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. Did not encounter any problems and would stay again. I personally loved the bed but hubby thought it was a bit too soft though he slept well. It has a doona to sleep on which makes the bed so soft. We had a lovely corner room of reasonable size.... more

This was a luxurious stay, from the welcome from the late night porter to our studio apartment that had a full kitchen and sitting area to the huge corridors and awesome restaurant. Not so good points: long walk down the corridors to the lifts, and indoor pool area access via outdoor non-covered paths but a relatively quiet stay despite close... more

We stayed for two nights recently after reading some of the reviews. Our one bed room apartment was quite nice - although did look a bit tired. Our first sign of trouble occured in the middle of the night when we realised the air con was not working very well. The room was very hot and stuffy - even though... more

I stayed in the Grand Hotel on business for one night. The building is an historic building which has been renovated. The concept is fantastic and parts of the renovation are really good. However, other parts don't work. The corridors are huge and very long. It would be easy to get lost in the building. I was assigned a loft... more

stayed here with some friends for a weekend during the melbourne comedy festival reception staff lovely and informative at the desk...but...because the hotel is so BIG....got a little disorientated and realised then that there was inadequate information given as to the location of our 2 bedroom apartment. The place felt quite empty even though we were told they were full.... more

I have often passed this building (it is next to a major suburban train station) and thought what a wonderful place it would be to stay, but not quite ready to pay that little extra for a truly classy hotel. Finally I did it and the experience was truly wonderful. Things did not start out particularly well. As our early... more

This was our second stay at the Grand - the first being in 2001. The building was as grand as I remember, especially the corridors - but our room was a shade disappointing. I remember the room we had last time was very grand indeed - this time the room (or suite as the bedroom and bathroom were still upstairs... more
