We spent 2 nights at the Metropolitan and it was nice. The pool was very good and we enjoyed having an outdoor area in the room (terrace room) -- the rest of the room was regular, nothing oustanding. We had the lunch at cyan restaurant, which was very average. Our only concern is the music from Met bar on Friday... more

We stayed 3 nights at the Metropolitan en route to Koh Samui and couldn't have been happier with our experience...from the sensational car service from the airport (a very gentle way to ease my first-time Asian traveller husband into Thailand!), to the champagne and chocolates in our incredibly spacious Met room (we were celebrating our wedding anniversary), to the wonderfully... more

We've been to Bangkok several times and usually we can't wait to leave Bangkok to go to the Islands to find good service, peace, quietness and relax. This time was different. We arrived at the MEtropolitan hotel and loved this place immediately. It is very well located and most of all, it is beautifully designed, and the swimming pool is... more

This is a great hotel and won't dissapoint. Beautiful rooms and top service. The restaurant has great food and the breakfasts are pretty swish. Be warned though the restaurant is very expensive as you'd expect. We loved our stay the only downside was the location, we preferred staying on the river with the other bigger hotels. more

We decided to spend a little more for our first few days in Thailand to recover from the 24hr trip. I am glad we did. The Oriental and other top end Bangkok locations are not my style (although I don't doubt that they are very nice). Many other places seem to try to be like the Oriental, but for better... more

From the moment we arrived, to the day we departed we received excellent service. Concierge, room service and front desk staff went out of their way to assist us. On arrival (as honyemooners ) we were upgraded to a terrace suite with champagne. The room was huge with a delightful outside shower. The buffet breakfasts are amazing - everyone should... more

If you are looking at experiencing a hotel, who not only gets the idea of luxury and service right, but also dares to break the mold of 'chain' hotels in Asia - this is definitely the place for you. I stayed at the Metropolitan for a week on business and it was a sheer delight. The hotel is beautifully designed.... more

Great hotel in central location. Massive rooms & bathroom. Not your standard buffet breakfast, but rather a selection of fruits and cereals then a choice of 6 or 7 hot meals made fresh - best I've had in large hotel. Had dinner one night in the restuarant which was good, only down side to stay was that it was the... more

We spent 5 nights in a Met room at the end of December. We were greeted at the door by a guest relations officer and were escorted to the room after a quick, friendly and hassle-free check-in. The room was spacious and very tastefully decorated. The bathroom was huge. Unfortunately, there seems to be a problem with drainage in the... more

This is a lovely hotel and although we only stayed here for a night we enjoyed our stay here. The staff were lovely and in keeping with the Thai ethos we really felt welcome. They were perfectly polite and nothing was too much bother. There’s a nice pool/spa which is an oasis in the middle of bustling Bangkok and a... more
