The Hotel is in a very convenient location. Walking distance to the Park, the lake, the bank for money exchange Room is regular, not big, not small, air conditioning worked fantastic (unlike some other reviews I had read before the trip). The only thing you will not like and notice is the humidity you can smell on the hall way.... more

We had two rooms here on a pass through Hanoi. There are apparently several IndoChina Hotel properties - we stayed at the IndoChina 2 which is located close to the Water Puppet Theater. Our sons room was great from the get-go. My wife and I were initially put in a room kind of on the same floor, but in an... more

My husband and I spent two nights at the Indochina Hotel in Hanoi in July. We found the hired staff to be friendly and helpful, but did not particularly like the main manager/owner himself. He wasn't especially rude or unhelpful, but he had a very set way of doing things that he did not like to stray from. For instance,... more

We were booked into the Ritz and then got moved into this hotel after they had overbooked. This was our good luck. This hotel was loads better. We had a great room with a really nice feel and was extremely comfortable. None of the problems that are mentioned here occured in our stay. The breakfast was really nice. The staff... more

Even for being in the middle of the city and close to everything you need, the hotel still is in a small and quiet street with almost no traffic. But as soon as you go around the corner you have all the shops, spots and places you need in front of you. Just a few minutes walking away is the... more

This is a decent hotel with clean rooms and an excellent location in the Old Quarter a stone's throw from St. Joseph's Cathedral. I'd booked a standard room, but for some reason I was upgraded into a deluxe room for the first night of my stay so I can compare the two types of room. In both cases the rooms... more

add 3% for credit card; promise morning call, but did not make it; smell in the room of the first floor; never change their menu of breakfast; dishonest of the receptionist, they even want to earn money by calling taxi for you; they charge anything, even hot water; rooms to the street are noisy; some rooms are too small to... more

We asked the hotel to book us bus tickets from Hanoi to Nanning. We were told these would be USD 32 each which we thought was pricey but were told that was the price. Every time we asked for the tickets they would not give them to us, making up excuses like they needed to show the taxi driver the... more

I know that you cannot expect much for that kind of price but the enormity of choice of similar accommodations in Hanoi, I would not recommend choosing the Indochina hotel for the following reasons. First, the location is not that good. It is indeed close to the lake but it is located on a pedestrian street which is not normally... more
