I travelled to this hotel with a friend and my family in 2007. I wasn't expecting much more than a nice apartment and the hot sun, but to be honest i was stunned by the sheer beauty of the hotel...walking through an archway to look up and see an enormous golden/white ceiling stretching all the way up to the top... more

As most of the other reviews have highlighted, this is definitely not a 5-star hotel in terms of luxury but earns its rating thanks to its facilities. The negatives: Firstly, the general feeling of shabbiness. The carpeted areas of the hotel seem well-worn and slightly dirty, the paintwork needs a touch-up (although, the first room we were allocated smelt so... more

We arrived on July 2008, we did book a room for 2 adult and 2 childrens, when we ask for it in the reception they told us that there is none available at the moment so they upgrated us to a suite we were very happy intill the reception manager pop in and said that this will be for one... more

We arrived early afternoon, reception staff were a little slow but not rude. Our room was lovely - sea view which we had paid for in advance. We experienced no problems at the hotel at all. The restaurant, bar and entertainment stafff were all very friendly and helpful. The food did get a little boring but when you can take... more

We have been to Yasmine Hammamett before in the 45 deg heat but decided to go in the cooler part of the year, March, yes it is cooler but still T shirt and tanning weather. This hotel is listed as 5 star, ok its about a 4 check out the 3 star for change in quality the staff are polite... more

Worried about the negative feedback that I had read before my family and I travelled, I expected to have a really disagreable holiday. Not a bit of it! The hotel was clean, spacious and had a relaxing ambience. The staff were really friendly ( particularly the 'entertainers' and restaurant workers), the pools, both inside and out, sports and spa facilities were... more

This is my second trip to Tunisia with my wife in two years. Last time we stayed in Port El Kantoui which is a considerably better resort in my opinion than Yasmine Hammamet. The travel agent advised us to book 4* or more which we did and I have to say there is very little negative remarks that I can... more

We have just returned from Tunisia - our stay at the Taj Sultan was mixed - five star it was NOT. The food was dreadful and particularly on the Tunisian evening (for which we paid extra) when most of it went back to the kitchens. Incidentally our room overlooked the kitchens, bins and cats!!! My daughter's telephone was stolen at... more

We booked this holiday before checking trip advisor and after reading them and being horrified, we had low expectations! However it was not as bad as we thought. We had a 3 hour delay so it was late when we arrived (midnight). We were the only couple dropped at the Taj, but it was at full occupancy. We had paid... more

Where do i start!!! 5* what a joke its closer to 3* possibly even 2*! Upon arrival the hotel appeared pretty impressive however the illusion is soon shattered by the rude reception staff and the hotel lobby toilets that smell of drains. On our first night we were shoved into a dark room in a corner with a matchbox balcony... more
