The Prince Hakone is a Beautiful Hotel! I booked this hotel through the Prince Hotels website and had absolutely no problems with the reservation. The Prince Hakone is located near the town of MotoHakone, which is the starting point to explore the wonders of the Lake Ashi area. The hotel, very large by Japanese standards, is part of a large... more

A really excellent and stylish hotel in a great location on the lakeside. Great staff - very friendly and helpful - and a fantastic building. Onsen is outdoor and was empty when we were there - great. A couple of things to note - the restaurants are REALLY expensive and you pretty much have to get a taxi to and... more

We used our JR passes from Tokyo station to Odawara. From Odawara we had reservations with the hotel's shuttle service. The Prince Hotel is a resort hotel and is located in a very remote area off the beautiful and serene Lake Ashi. As June is the off season for tourists, there weren't many people there. We had a huge room... more

Booked this hotel via Viator.com which had a deal for a Mt Fuji tour and hotel stay. Big mistake. Somehow, we got the Annex wing. And the rooms there were in serious need of renovation. My personal guess is that they were probably 25 years old!! No doubt it was relatively clean, but the room had carpets that were really... more

Excellent food the Japanese Resturant course was amazing and Morning buffet was nice. Great open air onsen. Phenominal and relaxing japanese themed spa. Every staff was very kind and polite. Nicely renovated lobby but the rooms are still a bit retro. Definitely would love to go back again. more

I got a great deal on expedia - $150 per night, and expedia had sold out on the second night of our planned stay, so I turned to asiarooms.com, which gave a rate of $155 per night. We ended up with a double room, which had a king-sized bed, and a nice balcony with a garden view. We took the... more

A beautiful hotel surrounded by a tranquil setting right on the lake. The rooms were well equiped, large, clean and comfortable. We had a garden view room and you can hear the beautiful sound of a stream that runs through the garden. The hotel is romantic and relaxing. I also really enjoyed the food at the hotel. I had the... more

We stayed at the Prince Hakone soon after it was renovated. Our room was gorgeous with a beautiful view of the lake and tall green trees, and a balcony. Everything is like new thanks to the renovation. There is a large bathroom in addition to a separate vanity area with a second sink outside the bathroom. Provided in the room... more

I stayed at this hotel for three nights just before Christmas 2005 with my girlfriend. Before I speak of my negative impression of the hotel rooms i must speak of the positives. The location is suberb, right on the shore of the lake and over looking Mt Fuji. It is only 50 metres from the cable car taking you up... more
