We stayed here five nights with our 10-month old. We reserved a Superior Room with City View through their website. When we arrived, the room did not have a separate shower and bath, which is the most obvious difference between the Standard Room and Superior Room according to their website's room descriptions. I asked the front desk twice about our... more

The Hotel is situated within the Kyoto Station building with its many facilities. There is a large Departmental Store with many Restaurants on the 11th floor (just take the escalators to the top) and there is a lovely garden on the roof. The Hotel facilities are good and we had a very comfortable room overlooking the platforms. The location of... more

The Good: Hotel is right in the train station, great subway and bus connections. A great looking hotel. Room very clean and free internet (wired). We ate at the Italian restaurant in the hotel one evening and it was very good , reasonable for a city hotel and had a great view. The Bad: We stayed in a number of... more

This hotel cannot be beaten for its convenience to the trains, subway and buses at Kyoto Station. The hotel room was extremely generous in size, tastefully furnished, clean and a quiet oasis from the frenetic pace of Kyoto station. The bed was wide and comfortable, with white sheets and big fluffy pillows. The bathroom was modern and sparkling. Try to... more

An excellent hotel. I was with my son and the two queen beds were very handy. We went for the standard room which was fine, just at the back overlooking the railway. I noticed another reviewer said they didn't hear anything but while we didn't hear any trains what we did hear was the announcements. However they were in a... more

I booked this hotel for its location, having never been to Japan before and not wanting to have to go searching for a hotel in a strange place alone after a long journey. The location is great, inside the station obviously and also right across the road from the Kyoto Tower. Walking into the cool air of the hotel reception... more

This was our favorite hotel during our 10-day trip to Tokyo, Nara, Kyoto and Takayama. Stayed here for four nights. Initially, we were a bit worried that, by staying in such a modern hotel in Kyoto, we would be missing some of the character of, say, a traditional ryokan. However, the convenience and overall nice-ness of the hotel utterly dispelled... more

We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights. The hotel is huge with many different restaurants to choose from. It has a great location situated just above the Train station so travelling to the others cities was easy. The station also has various places to eat with plenty of shops connected to it. Rooms are clean and modern and the... more

Convenient location: Ok, this is an extraordinarily convenient hotel: the hotel is attached to the main train station. Most buses start and/or end up here, and generally speaking, for touring around, buses are the way to go in Kyoto. Hotel rooms: Generous sizing both in room and bathroom, very clean, generous toiletries (everytime something was opened - replaced next day:... more

Kyoto and the Grandvia is a perfect place to base yourself to take day trips to Nara, Osaka, Okayama, Hiroshima and beyond. The hotel is 5 star and is adjoined to the Kyoto rail station. It is a 5-10 minute taxi trip from The Grandvia to the major sites of Kyoto, however The Grandvia has plenty of restaurants on site... more
