This was supposed to be a dream, once in a lifetime holiday but was ruined by the hotel. The hotel site describes it as being modern well it isn't its like a throw back from the 70s. when we checked in reception staff were quite rude we were on the first floor, my partner and I have back problems so... more

The hotel is a 3 star and it's what it is. We stayed for 10 days in a delux room in smaller buildings to the side of the main one. Quite spacious and with own balcony it had a large bathroom and just enough wardrobe space. The slight minus was poor lighting so that it was almost impossible to read... more

We stayed in Berjaya for 2 weeks during my husband's meeting in Mahe. There is nothing special with the room. It's equipped with basic amenities and an OK bathroom. Room service usually doesn't give you towers if they have to be replaced. You have to call to ask for it. Since we don't stay in the room that much, so... more

This is one of the cheaper hotels on Mahe and offers relavtively good value for money. I also reccomend that you upgrade to the chalets, which are called the "deluxe" rooms. They are separate from the main hotel on the right hand side (looking from the beach). The Beach is very nice and gets quite busy over the weekends. Most... more

We stayed in one of the chalets for 1 week, as part of our honeymoon. Unless you're on a VERY tight budget and plan to spend very little time in your hotel room, I would pay the extra for a chalet. The main block looks like depressing budget student accommodation built in the 60's, but the garden chalets are not... more

I can cope with the concept of getting what you pay for but the fact is that for what you get this resort isn't that cheap. The hotel was opened in 1974 and if you are nostalgic for the seventies this would be a great place to stay as clearly little has changed since then. The rooms in the main... more

I read some of the reviews prior to travelling and if I had taken note would have never stayed in the hotel. Read on for some important info. The good things: The hotel is right on the most beautiful beach you will ever see. The hotel offers a choice for meals from the Pizzaria to Chinese to the resturant offering... more

After reading some of the previous comments about the Berjaya, I was hesitant about staying at this hotel. Quite frankly the comments do reflect the overall hotel experience. The hotel is rundown and in need of a makeover to bring it in to the modern day. I was lucky to stay in one of the garden chalets and not stuck... more

The hotel is dated and the staff cooking the hot breakfast very unfriendly. Also most days at breakfast the bacon etc ran out. If you want to stay at this hotel upgrade to the chalets which are situated in the tropical garden and have their own balconies, which are nice as most people sit and have a few sundowners before... more

Just dreadful. The problem with the Seychelles is that you are stuck with 3 star properties like this one or have to pay a fortune for the 5* star ones with decent service. There's nothing inbetween. Here for work for 3 weeks. Checked in - surly staff. As reported elsewhere in this forum - distracted is a good word also.... more
