I just went back from Machu Picchu a few days ago. Before I got there, I was terribly sick due to the altitude problem in Cusco. The staff and enviroment in Inkaterra alleviated my prior discomfort and made my 3-day stay very much rewarding. First, the service was great. People from the one who greeted me at the train station,... more

Our travel party was on the fence concerning whether to stay at Inkaterra or the Sanctuary Lodge. We most definitely made the right choice. The former's grounds are extremely convenient to any traveler, as you basically walk a few flights of steps from the train station to your hotel room. No need to worry about transporting luggage as there are... more

2 days are not enough to enjoy this magical place! As a nature lover, I could spend a week in Inkaterra Machu Picchu. Don´t miss the local tours for orchids and birds! Ingrid, from Eco Center is a lovely Peruvian who knows a lot about this ecosystem. Restaurant service is a little slow but the food is very good. After... more

We stayed two nights in the Inkaterra and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The location is very convenient for the train station and the buses to MP - about 5 minutes walk to both. The grounds of the hotel were absolutely amazing and, if you have the time, go on the birdwatching (31 species in 1.5 hours!) or nature... more

We arrived on the train from Ollantaytambo, and were not met by the hotel. Even though I had copies of e-mails with me that said that this transfer had been arranged. We had to keep asking locals were the hotel was. There was a lot of confusion. Finally we arrived, walking way out of our way and carrying everything. We... more

This hotel was very comfortable, close to the bus and train stations for travel to and from Machu Picchu. It was nice to be on the second floor with a great little balcony to relax. Great shower and accomodations, the room was totally fine. We had a nice time at the pisco hour. Service for lunch was slow, but the... more

They won't care even if you wake up with a big black spider in the morning. Especially if you are Asian. You stay at $600/night hotel not only because you want comfort but also because you know you will be taken care of. I woke up in the morning with a big black spider (half the size of iPod video)... more

Dear realbg, Thank you for taking time to review our hotel. We are happy to hear about your satisfaction for the excellent attention on your first two days of stay. We lament the incident about your spider encounter on your last day, for which Inkaterra has extended utmost assistance, by the Resident Manager and staff, and later by the doctor...

Inka Terra / Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel is expensive, but when you start to add up the amenities it becomes easier to justify. The key is to make sure you allow yourself enough time to take advantage of the hotel’s amenities. If you are just looking for a place to sleep and plan on spending every waking moment at Machu... more

The Inkaterra is an exquisite hotel in the cloud forest near Machu Picchu. Our room was simple with exposed beams and a beautiful Andean weaving on the wall. The food was delicous and abundant. The two dining rooms were beautiful, both overlook the Urubamba River. The public rooms are warm and inviting with fire places and Peruvian ceramics and textiles... more

We stayed 1 night in mid June: our early morning train from Ollantayatambo deposited us in Aguas Calientes at about 830am with luggage from the train efficiently taken care of by the hotel porters while we headed up to Machu Picchu; upon returning after lunch from the Citadel we checked into an were shown into our rooms (we were a... more
