We stayed in this hotel on our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. We were given a bungalow right beside the beach and it was really beautiful. Everything has been thought of, there is a selection of pillows and even real milk in the fridge for coffee. The food in the restuarant is fantastic and much cheaper than in town. The... more

I spent some time researching hotels in Costa Rica and this one stood out to me for some reason -- I am glad it did. Want some demographics? I am 33 year old software architect married to a 32 year old graphic designer. We love the outdoors, but realistically spend most of our time in modern situations -- we travel... more

This is probably one of the nicest hotels in the area, although I would not say that it is great. The landscaping is great, although the property is small. It is the only hotel that is directly on the beach, although they have a plexi-glass wall that separates the property from the top of the beach. It is a bit... more

By far the best place to stay in Tamarindo. The grounds are the most untouched nature in the area and many local folks think it's the prettiest too. We stayed 4 nights and loved every minute of it. the pool area, the beach and the walk to the town were perfect. the most amazing sunsets. we hope to go back... more

We enjoyed our visit - I definitely recommend the cabana for your stay. Walk to town via the road or the beach - it is about the same distance either way. Oh - the wildlife! The monkeys are just amazing and are there just about every day. Great pool area and very friendly restaurant and bar staff. They could use... more

We stayed at the Capitan Suizo for a wedding, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We arrived a day earlier than the rest of our party, and were so happy to take in the beauty and the laid back atmosphere. The staff at the hotel were more than accommodating, and the property was gorgeous! The pictures depict the hotel perfectly, with... more

When looking for a hotel to have our wedding, for 10-12 people... We were looking for a smaller hotel which offered a more intimate setting, beautiful rooms, good service and which would be within a short distance of Tamarindo for shopping or nightlife. What we found at Capitan was WELL above and beyond anything we ever expected. Our first impression... more

Our stay at the Hotel Capitan Suizo was brilliant! My boyfriend and I flew in to San Jose, and drove to Tamarindo to begin our trip (~4hrs). The town was great and the hotel (set down a bumpy dirt road away from the center of town) was amazing. The town is 'developed' for this part of Costa Rica (some locals... more

Wow! I read rave reviews about this place before we arrived but none of them did it justice. The hotel sits right on the best beach in Tamarindo, is not too close to town but an easy 5 minute walk up the beach so you feel secluded but not isolated. We stayed in one of their bungalows and it was... more

I found this hotel through tripadvisor and found the previous reviews very accurate. The hotel is located on the outskirts of town and is about a 10 minute walk from the middle of town. The regular rooms are within two two-storey buildings. The rooms with AC are on the bottom floor, and the rooms without AC are on top. The... more
