Fabulous boutique hotel in Cape Town. Location great. We stayed at Derwent House for the first three nights of a three week trip to Africa and we couldn't have been more pleased. Carol and Jo were impeccable hosts. The decor was wonderful, we especially loved the Mandela prints. We recommended Derwent House to everyone we met on the rest of... more

This is a gem of a place. Centrally located, but in a tranquil area. Our room was very well appointed and the promised view of Table Mountain was there. The Management and staff were extremely friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble, an element that made our stay even more enjoyable. Recommendations for restaurants/activities were top notch and... more

We plumped for Derwent House having looked at a lot of other hotels in Cape Town – and found it even better than we expected. Even before we arrived Carol had sorted out a wine tour with driver for us – which was absolutely fantastic. She also gave us tips on where to eat (all were very good – but... more

Not much new I can add to the other reviews, this place is great. It doesn't really feel like a hotel, more like a home away from home (albeit a lot cleaner and with a few more luxuries!). This is a great hotel with a terrific ambience, comfortable rooms and great staff. It's just a 5 minute walk to good... more

This is one of the finest guest houses in a city that has many that exceed international standards. The owners offer unmatched hospitality, warmth, and advice in a setting that is both stylish and welcoming. The pool and courtyard setting are lovely and the neighborhood is pleasant and convenient to restaurants and Cape Town's many beautiful sights. They were extraordinarily... more

We stayed at Derwent House as the first stop of our honeymoon and it was fantastic. The room was very smart with a spacious bathroom and balcony overlooking table mountain. The feeling of the hotel is very relaxed and warm and we were happy to sit having a drink in their sitting room as we are at home! The honesty... more

Myself and my boyfriend have just returned home from our two week South Africa trip. We stayed at Derwent house for our first four nights in Cape Town. Derwent house is a beautiful boutique hotel situated just below table mountain and not far from the V&A Waterfront (around 10 mins by car). This guest house is stylish, modern and extreamly... more

Derwent House was the cherry on the top of our South African vacation sundae! The location is quiet and safe, the decor is stunning and classy, the rooms are comfy yet chic, and Carol and Jo are just wonderfully kind people. There is a reason why this hotel is listed #1 and if you are reading this, you should take... more
