If you like being where the action is, then this is the place for you. It's located on the big wide main avenue (9 De Julio) across from the Obelisk and it's traffic, action and people like being in Time's Square. Hotel sits on the corner of La Valle Street a pedestrian mall several blocks long with stores, restaurants, theaters,... more

We had stayed in 3 differents room since we had to check out & recheck in after traveling to cities outside of Buenos Aires. All the rooms were pretty consistent in issues with the exception of room #1111 since it was recently remodeled in modern decor but it also had its problems. PROS: 1. central location 2. friendly staff CONS:... more

I was worried about the noisy avenue because I just can't sleep hearing the traffic noise. But that was not a problem at all. The double glazed windows worked great. I was in the 11th floor in a 2-room suite with a double bed (in one room) and 2 single beds in a separate room connected by a door. Plenty... more

Stayed for one week in Nov. the cleaning staff and porters were very good, plentiful and helpful. The breakfast room staff was also very helpful and attentive to your needs. The room was very clean and the size of the room reminded me of the room size in Paris hotels- small but adequate. The bathrooms had a strong flush. the... more

I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Colon and found the double glazed windows to help keep the room quiet . The room small and the bathroom very small, but the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast provided included a great variety of pastries and breads along with eggs, fruit, coffee and juice. There is a... more

In my tour package, this hotel was rated as a four-star hotel. It is a three-star hotel, at best. The rooms are very, very small. Be sure to ask for a double bed (cama matrimonial), because even though the travel agency knew we were a couple, we were initially assigned two very small twin beds. At my insistence that the... more

Hotel was very clean, room service was excellent & prompt. Maid service was great. Our complaints were with the size of the normal room. It is so small you can't fit two people & luggage in it. The elevators are very small, if you are going out in the am you may have a 10 to 15 minute wait. We... more

Whatever you do, don't believe the photos - they have been altered. This hotel is surrounded by other buildings. Most of the rooms have a view of a wall, air conditioning units, or a "courtyard" - a 10x10 square with nothing in it. The rooms are "European Small". Barely room to walk around a double bed, and a bath that... more

I can't understand anyone who can put up with the traffic noise. Even with the ( thin ) windows closed ( otherwise the weak air-con can't cope) it's loud - and till the early hours non-stop. Otherwise for the price, nothing special. I've found loads better hotels in BsAs since. more

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Colon for our Honeymoon in March 2006. We cannot say enough kind things about this hotel. The room was nice, comfortable (we had a suite with a view of the Obelisco) and very resonable considering they also include breakfast. After traveling around Argentina, we flew back to Buenos Aires for our last... more
