I'm currently staying at this hotel and it certainly was a great find!! Both the exterior and interior are very fun and clean. The pool area looks adorableee!! The rooms are very spacious, I have a big bed with incredibly comfy pillows, a huge flat screen, mini bar, a long desk and bathroom. They really paid a lot of attention... more

This hotel is an older property that was refurbished in 2000. It is downtown Phoenix where there are no other eating establishments within walking distance. The hotel has a very good, moderately priced restaraunt on site which is open at 6 am for breakfast and stays open for late dinner thru 10pm. The buildings themselves are situated in a big... more

Thank you for your wonderful review... a couple of clarifications: * The Clarendon was renovated in 2007, not 2000. * The pool area, rooftop bar, restaurant/bar and half of the guest rooms all came online in 2007. * It's really in the midtown museum district, not downtown - but some locals perceive the area as downtown. * There are about...

My wife and I arrived on a Thursday for a 4 night stay over Labor Day weekend. Having never stayed here before, we chose The Clarendon for its pool, not to mention a great vacation package sale on Expedia. The hotel's website proclaims itself to be a luxury boutique hotel. Didn't take long to realize this couldn't be further from... more

Thank you for taking time to write your review. You were staying at the hotel on a weekend when a local magazine bought out the rights to the rooms at The Clarendon for their Labor Day Splash Bash party. We closed out sales to all external sites, so I'm really interested in knowing how you were able to book a...

Stayed here for a couple of days whilst seeing friends in Phoenix and chose the Clarendon for its location and price. It seemed a total bargain at £40 a night and indeed it was! The building looks kind of 50's aside from the jarring copperplate typeface for the restaurant "Clarendon Kitchen". There is a decent size car park with covered... more

I love boutique hotels, but usually don't want to pay high prices and instead stay at a plain old chain. But the rates at the Clarendon were very reasonable and the decor was fantastic! It's modern and sleek and colorful, I just wished my own house was decorated like this. Also had a great martini menu in the bar. I... more

This was the second visit for my wife and me. We stayed at The Clarendon a year ago. Since the price was reasonable, we thought that we'd give it another try. As other guests have mentioned, the staff is very friendly and courteous (although in our experience not always effective.) The colorful decor is interesting. There have been some cosmetic... more

My fiance booked this hotel to surprise me with an evening away from Flagstaff. I had to be back at work the next morning, so this really was just a quick trip. I loved it! I am from Phoenix and generally hate going there but the view from the rooftop bar was wonderful. The bar was not crowded, but started... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Clarendon on a recent visit to Phoenix and loved it! I booked the room with a very friendly desk clerk and he even upgraded us to a junior suite. We checked in quickly and went up to our room. Everything looks super modern and hip, from the rooms, to the hallways and dining... more

On our way back from our Route 66 Road Trip from Texas to California we decided to stop by in Phoenix and take in a D-backs game. I want to first start off by saying (with the utmost respect) that Phoenix is friggin hot. When we got there it was around 110 degrees and my breath was taken away when... more

Thanks for your review, as well as the wonderfully kind comments about our staff and overall service. Please come back again soon, once the weather cools off, and enjoy our amazing pool area... named the best pool area in the valley by Phoenix Magazine in their September 2008 issue, or have a drink on our rooftop bar overlooking the city...

I booked this hotel through Travelocity and got double charged. Once from Travelocity on my business credit card and then again on my personal credit card. Neither company is easy to work with to get a refund for the double charged amount. The hotel was "cool" but dirty, in a low-income neighborhood, and nothing worked properly. All the air-conditioners in... more

Jaime, Sorry to hear that you were charged twice.... Travelocity provides us with a virtual credit card number that the room should have been charged on. When you check out, it is always a good idea to look at your folio to prevent charges from going to the wrong credit card - yours in this case - as this would...
