We stayed at the Movenpick Petra Resort for 2 nights. We booked a superior king double room. The room size was good, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom included a good power shower - crucial after those long walks to Petra. The soap provided by the hotel smelt wonderful. The room was equipped with TV with several international... more

We stayed at the Moevenpick Resort Petra for a one night stop on a trip that took us from Amman, to Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Petra, the Dead Sea and back to Amman. The tour was arranged as a package, hotels and meals with driver included, through Jordan Tours (which we are extremely pleased with) in Petra so I’m not sure... more

Let me guess – you are here trying to decide between the Crowne Plaza and the Movenpick? Here’s one person’s opinion: if you are traveling with kids on a “family vacation” stay at the Crowne Plaza; if you are coming with your spouse or significant other stay at the Movenpick. Anyone who claims the Crowne Plaza is “closer” the entrance... more

The selling point of this hotel is its location. Petra is exhausting and it is fabulous to be just a short walk from its entrance. With the exception of the receptionist mentioned below, staff were very charming and pleasant. The room was bog-standard. Standards of cleanliness in the room were good. The pool is small, but the towel and bar... more

There are two Mövenpick hotels in Petra, one up on the mountain overlooking Petra and the other 100 metres from the entrance to the site. We chose the one next to the site and were glad to be able to walk straight in and not have to take the car for our day visiting this wonderful location. The hotel is... more

I stayed at the Movenpick during my visit to Petra. The location is great, right at the entrance to Petra. And overall the hotel is in great condition. Good service. The only negative feedback I have is regarding the billing. I booked the hotel through Orbitz and it required prepayment. Upon leaving Movenpick, instead of billing Orbitz for the room... more

Im repeating the first couple of general paragraphs from my Dead Sea review for anyone who didnt read that. My boyfriend & I (both 35yrs old) stayed here for 3 nights this July. We've both travelled extensively and I did a lot of research when choosing our hotels for this trip to Jordan (see also my review for the Movenpick... more

We visited the Movenpick hotel in Petra on the weekend of July 5th, and were very happy with our stay. We didn't know what to expect at this hotel, since the reviews on this website varied so much. The hotel is outside the entrance to the Petra and is very convenient if you do not have a car. The main... more

The hotel is quite charming with the beautiful wood carved ceilings and Moroccan feel. The rooms, however, were just average. We needed two adjoining rooms for our family of five, but they were unable to make that happen. Instead, we were given two rooms that were on different floors. We just all squeezed into one room and it was fine,... more

We have just returned from a trip to Jordan and stayed at the Movenpick ,Petra whilst we were there. We thought it was fabulous! The interiors of the buliding are stunning - particularly the carved Damascene ceilings and wall panels in the bar, and the impressive atrium. We also thought the food was very good; the breakfasts were well presented-(fabulous... more
