I researched for days to visit during one of the busiest times of the year, I was looking for unique, away from the hustle bustle of union square and I found it at the Kabuki. We chose the Corner KIng and we had lovely views of the city. The decor was minimalistic and serenely Japanese and lovely. The hotel staff... more

Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco's Japantown is a great alternative to the often over-crowded and over-priced hotel scene near Union Square. We had a lovely 250 sq foot room with a balcony. The entire hotel has been recently renovated and is definitely worth a look. They have a gerat lounge/restaurant as well. more

Stayed for a Saturday night in September. Am a fairly recent visitor to SF ans know my way around reasonably well though I'd never stayed in Japan Town before....and to be honest I doubt I'll stay in the area again. If you want to be close to 'downtown' you're better staying elsewhere. The hotel isn't the cheapest although the views... more

We stayed for one night and asked for a King Corner with the special tub. The room was clean and spacious with a very comfy bed. The tub was terrific and felt amazing. We got a room on the 13th floor (note that the ice machines are on even numbered floors) and loved the view. Great location. more

In San Francisco third week of August 2008--booked three star hotels via Priceline--two were excellent; one was bad. Highly recommend Hotel Kabuki and Kensington Park which you might get on-line for $100-$125. Beware hotels "under renovation" or no-frills, "Boutique". Don't want to identify the latter hotel because manager was so nice, but arrived with 3 TV channels, spotty wi-fi, faced... more

We stayed at the Kabuki in Japantown for three nights while interviewing for jobs. It was perfect for us: not too fussy or ostentatious, but nice touches like very clean, new sheets and bedding (supremely comfy beds) and toiletries and friendly staff. I was worried it was going to be over-the-top with the Japanese theme, but it was tasteful and... more

The rooms are spacious with great Japanese bathrooms and breakfasts. I would recommend this place especially if you can get a good deal on the room rate. more

I stayed three nights at the Kabuki Hotel. The room is not what you would expect for a 270$ / night. The windows were old and didn't close properly so the room was noisy. The balcony was shared with all the floor and even they have a sticky on the window saying that was safe to left the window open.... more

I expected a quality hotel with excellent service. I am sorry to say that the stay was not worth the money, the service was in one word: lousy. It did not even meet the service of a 1 star hotel. So the Joie de Vivre story of experience this and that is all bla bla to me if you cannot... more

I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of july because I like Japanese stuff but these is not really Japanese, just a few pictures and decoration. Excellent bed and bathroom, very clean and very near Japantown shopping mall and restaurants and Fillmore restaurants at walking distance. You can take the bus 3 different busses to Union Square, the... more
