We stayed here for six nights in October 2007. This hotel is very run-down and in need of an overhaul for sure but i didnt encounter bed bugs and the staff were ok, i guess they get tired of all the complaints. On a good note, the hotel was handy to the ocean (we went snorkelling every day out of... more

I have stayed here two times, once in 2003 and now in April 2008. (several days each time for a class reunion). I notice that it has really had bad reviews recently, but I guess it is just up to what you expect. I know that it is an older property and in need of renovation. I also know that... more

We stayed at this place because our flight was delayed due to engine issues. I have to say- the initial smell when you entered the lobby reminded me of places that try to mask the smell by spraying scents. The room was disappointing. I noticed another reviewer added photos of the mold coming out of the vents, so I won't... more

When booking our room online, we knew it was an older hotel. We expected some dated furniture and some wear to be showing, but we were not prepared for the filth we encountered. Walking into the lobby one is greeted with the overwhelming smell of nursing home (urine + industrial cleaner). Our second clue should have been when waiting to... more

When we stayed at the King Kamehameha hotel I felt that I had stepped back to the 60’s. When we first stepped into the room the face of my 9 year old daughter dropped, she didn’t want to stay there. The room smelled clean but that was the ONLY good part. Furniture looked like it just came from Goodwill, peeling... more

We were thrilled to travel to Kona to see our daughter compete in the Ironman Triathlon. The hotel is ground zero for the race: the swim start is at the beach and bulkhead next to the hotel, the bikes are adjacent to the hotel (so both transitions take place there). The finish line is right outside the front entrance to... more

This was one of the luxury hotels that Your Man Tours had booked us into for five unbelievably long nights. The minute we walked into the lobby I could smell the mould emanating throughout the air conditioning system. The staff was friendly but our nightmare began as we entered an aged, filthy elevator to be taken up to our room.... more

When I told the manager that I had a bloody cut in my foot from the rusty carpet tack strip at the bathroom doorway, she said that the hotel was in the process of remodelling and would not be done until 2011. She did not offer any compensation. For your own safety, do not stay in this hotel until 2011. more

Terribly filthy hotel and unpleasant staff. Got bitten by bed bugs during the first night and had a severe allergic reaction. The hotel indeed called urgent care for me but I had to take care of everything else myself. They changed my room but offered me no other compensation eventhough my stay was ruined due to coffee cup sized red... more

I stayed here to attend a meting held at the hotel. Simply speaking this place is a dump. Old smelly carpets, elevators do not work properly, and everything seems to be at least 30 years old. Wireless internet access is available but works only intermittently in the room. It is also very noisy, there is a dump truck coming at... more
