Can someone please tell me what is the seat configuration on TC long haul flights. I thought it was 3-4-3 then the back few rows just 2 seats at either side but I have just had a look on the TC airline website and it doesn't seem to show that now so if anyone has just come back on one can you please help.

Thank you in advance

Hi, when we went at the beginning of April it was a 3-4-3 and even though we were at the airport fairly early we ended up sitting one in front of the other as most of the seats were prebooked! We don't think it is worth the extra money to prebook as the airlines make enough money out of us anyway and it is only a few hours with the rest of holiday to spend together! (Just my opinion)

Thomas Cook airways usually use an A330 aircraft for longhaul flights to the Dom Rep. They have a premier compartment which is a 2-3-2 configuration and an economy compartment which is 3-3-3 except towards the rear of the plane where it is a 2-3-2 configuration.

totally agree with lindamojo.

I also refuse to pay for prebooked seats on principle, we have paid more than enough for the holiday already! having to pay adult prices for our two teenage kids, but they are not old enough to drink alcohol.

we just hope we will sit fairly close on the plane!

To pre book on Thomas Cook long haul is only £30 per person for the return flight. A small price to pay to guarantee you're sitting together. You can choose your seats too, the last five rows on the TC A330 being 2-3-2, the window seats ideal if you're travelling as a couple.

There are those who will decide not to pay the extra, and just arrive early at the airport to get seats together which is ok flying out, but on the return journey if you're one of the last to check in then you probably won't be seated together.

Again, if you are travelling with small children though, at least one parent will be seated with the children.

I find the pre-book fee a small price to pay for the peace of mind you get knowing you will be sat together.

Thank you for your replies. I have had a look on TC airline website at the seat configuration but I still can't see the A330 seat configuration that is why I thought they may have changed the aircraft. I would prefer to pre book seats especially if it is only 2 seats together ( no chance of disturbing anyone then)

Janny44, to find the Thomas Cook seat plans, Google ' Thomas Cook Your Seat'

At the top there is a tab saying Your Seat Your Choice. Click on this and there is a drop down menu with the seat plans of all different types Thomas Cook fly.

Below is a link to the Thomas Cook A330 seat plan, as you can see the last five rows are configured with two seats on either window side. This is due to the narrowing of the plane fuselage.
