Wonderful stay!
This hotel was a gem. The location was great, the staff always ready to help, and the cookies were so welcoming after a day of sightseeing. The French Quarter, the streetcars, the casino and Mothers Restaurant all were a short walk away. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New Orleans.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The streetcars are a great way to see alot of the city. The drivers friendly and helpful too.

lovely room
We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites from September 11-16. Our room was a suite that faced the street. It was clean, offered a coffee pot, fridge and microwave oven. The breakfast provided by the Country Inn was great. Make your own waffels, assorted muffins, pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit, juieces, teas and of course coffee. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They were very welcoming and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Also the location is great just a few blocks from Harrahs, the French Quarter, Riverwalk - very convenient.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Although we were there the week Ike decided to make land and it was very windy the first few days we had a very enjoyable time. The Zoo is wonderful. Be sure to talk to the zoo keepers they are very informative and interesting. We also visited the art museum and botanical gardens - another wonderful day.

Excellent place to stay
I really can not say anything bad about this motel except that onsite free parking would be a big plus. Short walk to the French Quarter. We stayed for 8 nights and would certainly go back.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
You can save a few bucks on the morning breakfast buffet.

Great stay at Country Inns & Suites French Quarter
We stayed 4 nights, Aug. 22-26, 2008. The location is excellent--close to the French Quarter and both the Canal and St. Charles Streetcar lines. The hotel is oddly shaped as it was once a warehouse or 2 or 3. But, they have arranged things cleverly and strategically placed the elevators to make everything easily. The lobby and seating areas are spacious, yet cozy and inviting. PROS: The room has ample space for a king bed and desk, as well as a reading nook with armchair, ottoman and lamp. Very comfortable bed. TV has front input jacks. The bathroom is reasonably sized with plenty of counter space. Both the room and bathroom were cleaned thoroughly. There were a few small signs of wear--due to normal use, not neglect. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Their deluxe continental breakfast includes make-your-own waffles that were notably better than others I have tried, a rotating toaster (very group-friendly) and surprisingly good cappuccino from a machine in the breakfast room--available 24 hours. CONS: I did not like the pillows, but Im very picky. Room noise--I could hear too many slamming doors from the hall and too much street noise through the windows. It didnt ruin my stay, but I would wear earplugs in the future.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Take the St. Charles Streetcar line all the way past Tulane. There are many beautiful "plantation" homes along the way. If you want to hop on and off, buy a Visitour Pass for $5.00/day or $12.00/3 days.

Great Hotel
I could not have asked for a better hotel. The location was perfect...very close to french quarter and other attractions. The staff was really friendly and the hotel was new and clean. It was also nicely decorated (exposed brick and beam was a nice touch). My only minor complaints were that the rooms with king size bed were somewhat small (still perfectly fine for a couple) and the pool (which we didnt use anyway) was also pretty small. Other than that, I was very impressed with location, cleanliness, and service. Add to that a very reasonable price and you get a happy customer.

Nice Place, Great Staff
The staff was very friendly. From the valet to the front desk I was impressed with the service. The gals at the front desk moved our rooms around so that me and my friend could be right next door to each other. We really appreciated the effort. The rooms were quiet, I was a little worried at first when I saw how close we were to the elevator but I never heard a peep of hallway noise. The pool is small but the courtyard is very nice and relaxing.
Traveler's tip on nightlife
This place is close to the quarter and the warehouse district.

Loved my stay
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The beds were unbelievably comfortable. Our room was kept clean very day, and they even served breakfast, not just pastries and coffee but waffles, yogurt, fresh fruit, oatmeal etc. Nothing complimentary about that. We would definitely stay there again. The only thing we didnt care for is the small pool other then that it was a great experience for the money. Oh yea I all most forgot to mention the fresh baked cookies they have at the front desk.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
check out the Imax theater and dont book your excursions with grayline tours because the money doesnt go back to the community. Try and book at the excursion booths. Try the alligator at Felix restaurant.

Very pleasant hotel in New Orleans
The layout is picturesque, with a lovely lobby and (smallish) pool in a courtyard. The personell were extremely helpful, especially the concierge. The hotel is very convenient to the French Quarter without having the noise problems associated with that area. All in all, a VERY pleasant stay!
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Go to Mardi Gras world! It was a hoot.

Just right for our weekender visit
I had stayed at the CI&S New Orleans for a conference at one of the big hotels, just 18 months after Katrina, and enjoyed it enough to book it for a weekend visit with my wife. The conversion of several historic warehouse buildings was done with imagination and flair. Area feels very safe, and the hotel is walking distance to the French Quarter, Riverwalk, COnvention Center and the WW II Museum (maybe ten minutes each way). Rooms are comfy, and a nice mix of old walls and new fixtures. Yes, if you get a room at the back, youll hear the garbage truck early in the morning if youre a light sleeper, but theyre there for only a couple of minutes. Breakfast was good, and included the Belgian Waffle machines. Valet parking to the secure lot was cheaper than at the Sheraton, and service for out-and-back was fast, never waited more than 5-10 minutes.
Traveler's tip on dining
Try Mandinas, just up Canal Street (3800) past the Interstate. Its in an old house, serves reasonably priced and carefully prepared regional foods (I had their yummy creole eggplant special) and is a local favorite that reopened only recently after the hurricane. And if youre in town on a Saturday, check out the Central (?) Farmers Market, held weekly 8-noon just down the street on Magazine.

FYI
Most of the rooms do not have any exterior window and you feel somewhat closed in. All be prepared to have the entire amount of your hotel reservation and parking costs frozen on your credit card until the business day after you check out. I checked out on Friday so it was on there until Monday

Wonderful hotel!
This property is wonderful. The staff was very friendly and the building was charming. It was a delight to stay at the Country Inn & Suites in New Orleans. I look forward to a return visit.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Its an easy walk to both the French Quarter and Riverwalk for shopping. I felt safe walking to all locations, even at night.

Could find better
Hotel room was small and cramped. We stayed near the elevator so we heard everyone coming and going. Also, many rooms face an alley way near the back and a very bright light was kept on each evening from a nearby building. We also had a pleasant wake up call at 4:30 a.m. from the local garbage pick up. Be prepared to pay each evening for parking at the hotel and to wait nearly 20 minutes for them to bring your car to you. When added to the nightly room rate you could find much better. Hotel is centrally located and front desk morning staff very helpful.
Traveler's tip on dining
You have to visit Cafe DuMondes for breakfast and the the Central Grocery for the famous mulfaletta at lunch. Also, a short walk to Mulates for dinner is definitely worth it. Oak Valley Plantation is beautiful!

NIce hotel
This older building near the French Quarter had a lot more character (in a good way!) than we expected. We had a very pleasant stay while we were in New Orleans for a conference. The location was central without being noisy; the room was comfortable and clean. All in all a good experience.

Good value
The room was clean and nice, but a bit small. The hotel was convenient to the Convention Center and the French Quarter. We spent a week here. The staff were very nice to us and the breakfast got the day off quite nicely. We would definitely go back. It is a nice hotel at a very reasonable price.

great location
the hotel was very clean and in walking distance of just about everything.Harrahs casino,Mothers restaurant, bars, the aquarium, and the riverwalk shops.the complimentary breakfast was great-waffles, sausages, fruit, and more. the staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very affordable. id definitely stay there again. : )
Traveler's tip on local attractions
eat at the buffet at harrahs casino. many restaurants/stores close early because they dont have enough employees to work since the storm. take one of the tours that show the aftermath of katrina, the above ground cemeteries, and the citys other landmarks. take a ride on the trolley for $1.25.

Incredible Customer Service
I appreciated not only the convenience of this hotels location, but the consistent friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and concierge. Even though I had booked several rooms under different reservations, they took extra effort to place all of our rooms as close together as possible. We were able to check in early to one of our rooms on the first day while they finished preparing the rest. When one of our activities was cancelled, the concierge was able to provide us with the phone numbers we needed to re-plan our activities. This was a good hotel for twenty-somethings seeking to participate in the local nightlife to eighty-somethings who wanted a quiet nights sleep.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
The portions at restaurants were large, so we brought back extras and ate in the hotel lounge area in the evenings. There are no refrigerators in the rooms, but there is a microwave in the breakfast room that is accessible even in the evening.

met our expectations!
After much research we chose this hotel basically due to the hotel reviews. It was great! Very comfy, wonderful breakfast buffet, friendly staff. Do be sure and allow 15 - 20 minutes time for valet parking to bring car, but never was a problem. Would go stay again.

Great Value
Family of 4 stayed here in mid-July. Great location - easy to walk everywhere. Room was decent size and hotel provided a good breakfast. We enjoyed the courtyard area where the "dipping" pool is. Front desk was helpful with directions and they held our luggage for us the last day after check-out since our flight out wasnt until late. The only down side was our room had no view to speak of and there was garbage pick-up about 4:30 in the morning but these were very minor things that wouldnt deter us from staying here again.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Get your souveneirs at the flea market - great prices! See a show at Preservation Hall. If its hot out try a frozen cafe au lait from Cafe Du Monde - very refreshing!
