“Great Hotel...REALLY close to airport”

Sandals Montego Bay

We loved the Sandals in Montego Bay....I would say the best parts were the food, the beach, and the service.

Make sure to book your dinners the day you arrive because you need reservations for Tokyo Joe's (think Mongolian BBQ...great food!) and Cucina Romano (good, but Bayside restaurant and Oleander restaurant where you don't need a reservation were just as good). We went to The Carlise restaurant at Sandals Inn, which was great food. The Sandals Inn was so tiny, wasn't on a beach, and didn't even seem like a "Sandals" though compared to the Montego Bay.

The beach is HUGE and beautiful. They advertise 4 pools, but there's really only 2...one with a swim-up bar. The pools are smaller than most big resorts, but the beaches are so beautiful it makes up for it. Make sure to do the water sports, which are all free. They will take you for a 15 minute cruise on a mini-catameran or an hour long snorkeling trip jst off the coast of the resort. Both are included and lots of fun.

The service was outstanding and everyone was so friendly. However, even though they advertise no tipping, the staff are more than happy to accept. We even felt they were waiting for a tip at times.

If loud airplanes bother you, stay at one of the other Sandals in Jamaica. The airport is VERY close to the resort. When I say close I mean the runway is 100 feet from the entrance. You hear the planes loudly about 15-20 times a day, and they go right over your head as they take off. If this noise bothers you, don't stay here. It's loud.

We had a wonderful vacation at MoBay Sandals.
Positives: food, beach, friendly service, watersports
Negatives: airplane noise, small pools

“It's really all inclusive”

Sandals Montego Bay

This was out 4th stay at this property. Although the property is the oldest Sandals resort, it has been well maintained. The rooms are being redeocorated, and their beach is spacious and well kept. The term all inclusive really applies to these properties. Once you walk onto the property you can put away your money. The only additional expense you might have is through the gift shop, spa, or off-site excursions. Otherwise all other property activities and watersports are included.

We stayed in a concierge level room. This room class provides for check in/out thru the concierge office. You can utilize the concierge office to book dinner reservations at any of the 3 local properties (should reservations be required), and off-property excursions. There is also a free shuttle which wil take you from property to property. Use of the other properties is also include in the price. The concierge rooms also have a fully stocked bar.

In the past we have utilized the various water sports, and gone on a shopping excursion into town. This year we opted to just take it easy. The great thing about our experience is you can do as little or as much as you like. There aren't any schedules to follow.

During our stays we have meet several wonderful people, both staff and return guests. Should you take the opportunity to vists you will most likely meet some of our favorite staff members mentioned below:

Kurtis - works at the evening piano bar. He will greet you with a
pleasant smile, and keep you beverage full.

Terry-Ann - works at the main bar. You can start off the morning
after breakfast with your favorite libation and see a
freindly face.

Joseth - works as one of the returnee liason staff. A lovely lady
who is truly concerned about seeing your stay is
trouble free.

We look forward to seeing these, and numerous others, when we
go back. Everyone is very friendly, and work toward making sure your vist is a great experience.

Although we could go on about the many features we enjoy about this resort, our best suggestion would be to go to Sandals.com. You can see video of the rooms, property, and see the current pricing for the various room levels.

    • Liked — The spacious beach, restuarants, and all inclusive price.
    • Disliked — This year the beach/pool towel supply seems to run out. This may have been caused by a change, where they put towels out on the pool chairs. People were also getting one from the waterspot area.

My wife and I just come back from Sandals MB and it was fantastic. We were in a Suite that provided 2 butlers and they really were fabulous at making our stay outstanding. Roland was 1 our Butler and he was beyond words. Roland was nice, neat and very courteous and he took care of us from day one. Sandal's is really strict about tipping but we made sure to show our appreciation for Roland.
Entertainment was great. The Playmakers kept things lively and the authentic Jamaican food from the Oleander was fabulous. Try the Ackee and Saltfish. Tours were pretty expensive but other than that is was a perfect vacation.

“Magical Experience!!!”

We were there for my husbands 40th birthday. WOW is all I can say. The Sales Manager, Dwight, took every step to assure our group had EVERYTHING we needed or desired. He is the one I want involved in every future trip I have there (and there WILL be more). Dwight wasn't the only one making this trip magical..the entire staff was so attentive. I will NEVER forget the morning after a late dinner, we had the same server (Norlin) for breakfast - he was as sweet and attentive as I remembered him the night before and he remembered all of us - made us feel VIP...but that's not it, the hostess Chenelle brought us some mimosas when I told her that this day was actually my husbands bday...well, lo and behold she had organized another server to surprise us with the most beautiful, deep, jamaican "happy birthday" song I ever heard, I get goose bumps just thinking about it. We all right away had to get to know this "server" better - his name was Jeffrey...when another couple from our party arrived at that breakfast we had told them of the seranade and they asked Jeffrey (as he was pouring their water) to sing something else...He belted out the song "Lean on Me" by the time he got to the chorus the ENTIRE RESTAURANT joined in...it was surreal as I looked around at about 150 people, guests and staff included leaning in the windows, bouncing to the rythym in their chairs...all joining in together to sing this classic song - I will truly never forget it...Jeffrey had the place on cloud 9! He surprised us that evening at our private birthday party with a couple of more songs...like I said - this was truly a magical experience - one I will cherish...I will return for a repeat and I have no doubt that this staff will be up to their stellar treatment! I would Highly recommend you give yourself the gift of the experience with a staff like this!!! - None other than Sandals MONTEGO BAY!!!

The whole "Sandals" idea is outstanding. You don't have to spend a dime when you are there! It was odd just getting up from dinner and not having to worry about paying the bill.

If you are a honeymooner, celebrating an aniversary, or trying to have a romantic get away with your significant other, this is the place.

I would describe this resort as a smorgasboard: you take as much or as little as you want! It is certainly the true meaning of "all inclusive!"

When my wife and I would return to our room after dinner and drinks, we found our room to be picked up (for the 2nd time that day), our bed turned down, and an arrangement of flowers on the bed. Speaking of beds, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in!

While at the swim up bar one afternoon, we bumped into a couple who was at the resort for a couple hours as part of cruise. They docked in Montego Bay and were allowed to partake in the "all inclusive" atmosphere. They said they enjoyed their cruise. However, they mentioned "you can't beat this all inclusive deal!"

Service was great, the Jamaican people were outstanding, the food was delicious, the rum was tasty, and the experience was perfect! YA MON!
