“Fantastic location and good value for money”

Midtown Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Derby, United Kingdom
Jul 22, 2008

What a great place to stay if you're looking for somewhere in the Back Bay area. Close to transport links including both Back Bay station (fifteen minutes walk) and the subway (Symphony is the closest stop and about five minutes walk), this hotel is great if you're looking to save money and see all Boston has to offer.
The only disadvantage is that there was no restaurant when we were there, so sadly the convenience of B&B was out, but it does benefit from being close to several restaurants and a mall, which all serve great breakfasts! Plus, a twenty minute walk takes you in the direction of the main shopping area and the common which has a lot of choice.
The rooms are clean and decent sized and the staff on reception were friendly. If you want something wallet-friendly then I'd give this a shot- don't expect luxury but it certainly is quality.

“Good value in Great Location”

Midtown Hotel

3 of 5 stars
Lancaster PA
Jul 15, 2008

The Midtown is a reasonably priced 1960's style motel dropped in a great location in Boston. It has no charm, but the rooms are clean, comfortable (and since we asked for a room on the alley)
quiet. Don't try to drive a full size SUV down the ramp to the
below ground parking garage or you'll get stuck. Ask the desk
to buzz you in the service entrance on the alley in the back if
you have a tall vehicle. The wireless internet access was a pain to use (new code every 24 hours) and spotty.

“Rooms are plain but clean”

The hotel is plain but the rooms are big and clean and the price are low comparing with the other hotels in Boston.
The location too is perfect, near the Prudential Center.

“Very good value hotel”

Midtown Hotel

5 of 5 stars
NE Essex, England
Jun 30, 2008

I was a bit worried about what the hotel would turn out like, considering some negative reviews, but was very happy with our stay, and would not hesitate to book this hotel again. We arrived quite early (before 2 pm) but there was no problem checking in at this time. The welcome at the front desk was extremely friendly. Check-in was quick and efficient. Our room was perfectly adequate for our requirements, clean and in good condition, with 2 double beds as requested, and shower/bath in good working order. We requested a non-smoking room and there was no smell of smoke in the room. We were not disturbed by noise during the night, apart from the occasional person in the corridor returning to their rooms, which you get in any hotel. Location was good, between Prudential and Symphony 'T' stations, and the nearby Prudential Centre was good for shopping and fast food/restaurants. Staff were without exception courteous and friendly, and we were genuinely sorry to leave.

“Perfectly Fine”

Midtown Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Farmington
Jun 23, 2008

Stayed two nights while we attended games at Fenway Park to see the Cardinals play. The room we stayed in was clean. The beds were comfortable. Read other reviews that complained of noise. We didn't hear or see anyone while we were there but I know that they had full occupancy based on traffic in lobby.
If you are looking for a place simply to sleep, shower and shave then this is the place for you. If you are looking for something more fancy go somewhere else. For the price you can't beat this place.
